Can anyone tell me what they think is the best medium to use, to thin Mr. Surfacer 500 for airbrush use? I've thought about usin' X-20 enamel thinner, not sure if this is a good idea! Thanks!

How about Mr. Color Thinner 110?
I've bought it for thinning (but not for airbrushing) ... it worked.
I would rather use Mr. Surfacer 1000 or 1200 for airbrushing (finer grain)
cheers
Steffen

I've had fantastic results reducing Mr. Surfacer 500 with both Gunze Sangyo Mr. Leveling Thinner, and plain old lacquer thinner.
I airbrushed this entire scratchbuilt interior with Mr. Surfacer 500 and Mr. Leveling Thinner. I'm definitely sold on the combination and use it for almost every priming need.

Just to make a suggestion, I have found that the aerosol cans of mr surfacer are quite good value, they look small but seem to last a really good time and it is much easier than cleaning my airbrush after spraying them.
I buy mine from a chap called Lou Stener at this address, his service is second to none as he is a modeller himself and really looks after his customers.

Admit it, you just wanted to show off your work!
Seriously, that is a superb interior.
