I'm building the DML Panzer IV Ausf F1 DOes anyone know how far up or down the idler wheel is supposed to go? Or should I measure a certain millimeter distance from say the middle of the last road wheel to the middle of the idler wheel? According to the Squadron Signal book on the Panzer IV it takes 101 links I just don't want the idler wheel to far up or down
Not sure yet if I'll show maybe a little sag I've ssen some pictures of it with a little sag #:-)

There isn't a hard or fast rule to where the idler is located. The tracks were tensioned with the idler, so it had some travel in it. The big hex head right behind the idler was a bolt that was turned to move the idler up or down, so the idler was only limited by the length of that bolt. Tracks were supposed to be kept taut but often had a litle sag in them, as can be seen by the hundreds of pictures out there, so I would do just a little sag, rather than a lot.
