I have a first version of the Tamiya Leopard 1 (105mm) and an Italerie Leopard 2 (no a anything). Does ayone make metal gun tubes for either or both of these? I thought I saw a barrel depot version for the first Leopard and I wonder if any of the 120 version Leopard tubes (other than the A6) would work for the Italerie

The Tamiya kit could use a plain Vickers 105 mm L7A1 gun, or it could have a thermal wrapped barrel, as this was retrofitted onto all Leopard 1's in service in the 70's. The Tamiya kit is not a very good representation, though it is the only kit available with the original chevron patterned tracks. The Italeri/Revell kits are better done.
The Leopard 2 kit as originally released by Italeri was a Leo2A3 variant (original production batch with the low light camera system and wind sensor deleted, and with the fuel filler caps moved forward on the sponson deck). The Esci/Ertl/AMT version also depicted this variant. Any Leo 2 120 mm short barrel will work.
Italeri's kit has since been retooled by Revell Germany to represent a 2A4 variant.
