Here is a project I have been working on for a long time, on and off. I think this will be a 3rd ID truck at Objective Curly during the second thunder run into Baghdad OIF1. I have added some hoses and wires to the chassis using the TM as a guide, but it is impossible to replicate them all exactly, and a waste anyway since they will mostly be covered once the job is all done. So, the important ones are there.
I can't wait to get to the painting part of this, but first I have to finish up the cab and then deal with that huge seam around the fuel tank.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers.
Bob

Looking good so far Bob. I like the detail you have added to the cab interior. This is not a bad kit and it looks like you are well on your way to really making a very nice example of a workhorse of a truck. Looking forward to seeing more photos of your progress.

Is that the painting of the M88 and CSM Gallegher under the bridge? I don't know of any other paintings.

Which painting? I am not familiar with it.
I do like where this is going. I don't think anyone has made a model yet of the resupply convoys in the Thunder Run.

Looks pretty damn good! Love all the detailing you ahve done, its looks reall smart and spot on. Has the cab interior been painted and finished? If so id love to see some shots of the insides.
I must say these M978's looks really nice, the upturned one in the Thunder un book would make an interesting dio.

I'll have to post some better interior shots later. I used the Pro Art set, which had some fit problems, but I may have not removed the resin pour blocks just right - no room for error on that sort of thing. I kind of like the way the interior came out. I put in seat belts, knobs, MRE litter, Tech Manual, padding details, and all the door interior details such as window crank, door opener, grab handle, bolts...
My vignette will show the crew fighting back while they are pinned down at Curly. That allows the door to be open to show off the interior.

Looks good. I also purchased the Pro-Art conversion sets and had the same frustration with the over-pours. The instruction guide also made a strong case for having your own references handy, as those with the conversions were not much help. My truck has the base coat of black, and I stopped last year for other projects. Guess I have the inspiration to finish it up now! Thanks!

Here are some better pics. I have been told the guys are quite messy in the cab when on campaign. My visit to the NTC confirmed this.
Prime Portal has been a big help in getting good reference. Also Brent too and Pete.
Thanks for looking.

It is not Jody Harmon's print, it is Larry Selman did the Painting & print for the 2006 War Collage Class pint.... Check out this link for both of their works

I met Larry at the 3 year anniversary of the fight at OBJ Curley. The guys from 3-15IN did a celebration/memorial at the 3ID Museum. The M88, named "Bob Sled," was CSM Galllagher's vehicle during OIF. It was also one of the two "Bloom Mobiles" that the NBC correspondent, David Bloom, rode on until his death. I think that Gunny built the F-450 truck and Pete Gay did the M88 that are ondisplay at NBC in New York. Kinda strayed off topic a bit... I should have stayed at the shindig for a while and I could have probably gotten a print for free with a bunch of signatures but I was feeling a bit out of place as I was not there on Curley for the action.

Pascal, I could not open your photos, but I am guessing it is the one on Prime Portal, which is very nicely done. Actually, I am doing this for Don. He is the guru when it comes to HEMTTs.
