I recently used oven cleaner to strip one of my trucks. It was enamel paint though.

Oven cleaner like Easy Off works well with Tamiya paints......put it on....leave it for about 15 minutes and wash it off......use a bucket if there are parts that might come loose....drains are hell....use an old toothbrush for hard places. Before you paint it's always good to give your model a wash with vinegar to counteract any Easy Off residue left on the model.
99% rubbing alcohol takes Tamiya paint off on contact and is much easier on the nose....I use a Q-Tip and then wash it all in warm soapy water afterwards.
Good luck.

denatured alcohol also works well. get it in hardware stores on the pianit isle. you can also shoot it through an airbrush to get those tight spaces. it warks well as an airbrush thinner for all acrylics too stug

I've heard good things about removing paint by soaking in Castrol Super-clean.. the stuff you find at wal-mart in the auto section or in automotive stores.. there are several fellows in my modeling club who swear by this method..

If you rub model cement on the paint, then take your blade and rub on it. It falls right off.

I use Tamiya paints on my figures and have found that Simply Green works well and is environmentally safe. I soak them, scrub them with a toothbrush, rinse and soak again. If for some reason you forget to take them out of the solution for a few hours, they won't desolve either. The only thing you want to make sure of regardless of which solution you use is that you do this in a well ventilated area.

In Sweden we got a window cleaner with Amonia (Amoniak).
Spray it on and the paint runs off like watercolours. :-)

I usually use a dishwashing liquid found here in Singapore called 'magic clean' for plastic models. For resin I give the entire kit a 'bath' in lacquer thinner. Whichever method you use it sure doesn t feel good!
