Peter,

Lookin' great. Keep us updated.

How did you find building the turret ring off set to the left side of the hull?

What paint scheme will you be finishing it in?

Hi Jason,
I think for this one I'll paint it green and black.
As far as scratching next time I'd use the Trump LAV -25 as a starting point , they are so cheap out of Asia, why not., and the turret is where you want it any how. I used Georges drawings as reference and plenty of shots from Jim Caddo and Dan Hay.
I think MLM is supposed to have a conversion for the AVGP this fall based on the Trump kit, so we'll see.
Regards
P

Looking good. I'd like to do the same to a partially built Italeri LAV I picked up a while back.

Any tips on blanking out the second front axle and turret placement.

Hi Paul,
I used a lot of cardboard templates to get the right fit, even then I ended up using a fair bit of filler. trial and error. Wait till fall and see what Maple Leaf Model has in store, I think they have a conversion coming out to fix just that problem.
if you want to start right away geta copy of George Bradfords drawings of the Cougar/Grizzly family and go from there.
regards
Pete
I'll let you know when the etch arrives

Peter,

I do not think the MLM AVGP conversion(s) will dissapoint you. Mark Minnis did a fantastic job on the Grizzly.

Thanks for the compliment of the article. I have just finished another article for my C1A1...now on to a Canadian M109A4+.

Now if we could just get Mark to master a set of wheels and tires for the MLVW....we'd be set

Hi Peter,
it looks you're a real scratchbuilding wizard, the Lynx and now this Cougar !
Your work is still amazing and very impressive. I can't wait seeing it complete and painted.

Thank -you for the very kind words. Truly my scratch building leaves alot to be desired, but I thank you for the encouragement.
I too am looking forward to getting into these ones as I have a special connectiona and would like to give the Cougar to a friend of mine who is graduating from OTU this summer.
I'll continue to post with new shots when I can.
Cheers
Peter
