Why are they so lazy?! Why can't they do anything? Seriously, I have a question, but first some background: I'm in 4-H, which is a great organization, and (At least here in my county) when they judge projects, we are there when they judge them, so we can answer any questions. I was thinking of placing my entire diorama on a lazy susan, so the judge wouldn't have to pick up the diorama to look at it. Is this a good idea? Also, any ideas on how I could improve it are gladly welcome...Thanks for your time.

I would say if the diorama fits fully on the LS with a bit of room to grab and spin the LS it might be a good idea.
I took a quick look at your gallery and didn't see any diorama pictures.

Hi MEBM
I like the idea of placing the dio on a lazy sue to keep the judge from picking it up.. Or even worse dropping it. I thinks its a great idea. Check out the dollar stores in your area. They normally have them pretty cheap. Don't forget to let us know how you do.
Good Luck
Harry

Yeah, I've been meaning to take some pictures and get them in. As for my diorama, here it is: It is right after VE day, and some GI's have decided that the Army doesn't pay enough. So, in the chaos, they have looted a fair amount of souvenirs and other "things". (German Helmets, Guns, Paintings, Silver, etc.) Well, they almost got away with it; they have been caught by the MP's on the border of Germany! I took a quick look at your gallery and didn't see any diorama pictures.
That's my idea, it's going to have the Tamiya 2 & 1/2 ton truck filled with souvenirs and the Tamiya Jeep done up in MP markings. I'm titling it "Not So Lucky", as I'm going to have the deuce and a half with the decal "Lucky". That reminds me, I need some good GI figures that are sitting down. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

Hi, MEBM!
I'm intrigued by your idea. Sounds like fun!
For figures, how about Tamiya #35080, US Combat Group? (Definitely add some spare parts from other kits to increase their level of alertness or add some facial expression. Your guys are getting caught red-handed after almost getting away with it!)
You might aso look at Verlinden 1525, although their figures tend to be a bit larger.
Good luck!

I display several of mine of Lazy Susans to avoid handling. I don't know what the people who run contests think of them, as I only "display" my models at home. Oh, and here.

Thanks for all your help! Oh, and just by chance, I was at Hobby Lobby today, and got the last three US Combat Groups! And for dirt cheap, too!
This will probably be the last time I'm on here for a while (My dio is due in 2 weeks!), so I'll explain a few details I'm particularly proud of: I found some German Medals in PE, some silverware in PE, and a few inside jokes, like the name of the diorama ("Not So Lucky"), the MPs are going to be named after a few old WWII vet buddies (The stories they could tell!), and for you Indy Jones fans, I'm going to have a "relic" in among the souvenirs. There will be more to come....Thanks for your time.
