How do you make camo nets? I thought of using very thin strips of tissue paper dipped inwhite glue and then laid out into a mesh adn then paint it and adda mesh covering that is thinner than teh tissue and lay that over the tissue and paint areas of it in blothced camo. How would you approach it. Mine is for Battle of the Buldge. Thanks

You could use Cheesechloth. "weaving" painted tissue into it.

I use cheesecloth.....stretched over an empty yogurt container and held with an elastic......then I cut strips from squares of gun wadding I got from a friend who's in the navy and pull it through and tie it off......lookes great after soaked in with glue and painted.

I use surgical gauze. It comes in squares and can be cut, painted etc without fraying apart. For foliage I add dried herbs or strips of tissue for more modern netting

You've probably all seen those camoulage children's shirts which are the nylon mesh? I bought one and just cut off pieces of it when I need to. It's already the color because they sell desert and woodland patterns.

For the big loose camo nets go with the medical guase you can get at the local drug store or grocery store. You can paint it as necessary. You can even add some white glue and water and parsley to add the 'leafy' stuff to it. Just mix water and glue and apply witha brush. Then lightly sprinkle on the parsley. Let it dry and waalaa. You may need to go pack and add some extra color to the leaves or to cover any of the glue mix. .

Hudson & Allens made a camo net for WWII. It had the weaves and already painted. Im not sure if it is still available though. Try VLS or Squadron Mail Order and see if they still have it.

i use Medical gauze. i soak it in thinned brown paint then dry it with a blow dryer. Its quik and easy and looks all right.
