Wow, ive actually finished a model! This has to be a first for me :-) Finally done!
Tamiya's M1025, Blast; doors, weapons ring and wheels(redesigned a little) Pro art radios and eduard PE details. Painted with Tamiya acyrilics and weathered with Vallejo paints and MIG pigments.
I wonder if I can finish another model!?

Ah nice build Rob. Glad to see the finished product. I have to admit, the base enhanced its look alot more though but i guess you had to take it out for AMoM.
Is this going into the Humvee campaign?

Jazza-No its not for the Humvee campaign, ive got 4 other Humvees lined up for that. This was my first ever Humvee and so was really a chance to get to grips with the thing, I hope to do a better job next time!
John-Humvees!!!!!!! and lots of other stuff-too much stuff to even think about

Though I don't comment much on MOM subjects - I gotta get better at that - I liked this one because it caught my eye.
Nice finish and construction overall. The model does justice to the real vehicle, and is nice to view. I like the dark background much better, the white tends to wash out your model and some of the finer parts of the finish gets lost.

Rob, very nice, good to see a dusty Humvee that's not painted Desert Sand. Very subtle finish, I like that a lot. Two observations, for your next Humvee, one is the mirrors, they should be angled back, for the driver to be able to see them. The other thing is the wiper arc on the screen, they don't line up with the wiperblades. The right hand one most. I know, Bl****y drivers, always windscreen and mirrors... :-) Can't help it, it's a habit..
Cheers Henk

Several of you has asked about figures-It wont have any crew inside as its all closed up now, but when I am a bit better at figure painting I may add 1 or 2 men beside it on its small display base. It has a small base which you can see if you have a scroll down on the modern USA forum and go to my topic I posted on there a couple of weeks ago. AS this is my first Humvee it was more of a project to get me to grips with the vehicle, future Humvees I build may be in dioramas or have crew figures.
Henk-The mirrors got broken when I dropped the model on the florr when I first started building it, I glued them back on a bit wonky and a friend of mine said they looked cool like that, as if they had hit a wall or been knocked by someone out of line.
I broke the etch wiper when trying to fit it so ended up having to make another one from metal foil( NEVER ever try this-its amazingly fiddly) eveentually I got a new one made but I realised ti was a little too small, but by this time I had lost the will to even live-let alone built a new wiper-lol
