Here's my ZIS 5 , finished just todayand it was also my entry for 'Wheels II'
campaign. Kit was produced by Zvezda and went together quite well,
with only some fit issues in the cab area, so some serious dry fitting
and cutting and sanding IS required. With some detail tweaks on the hood
Zvezda's offering looks way more finesse than ZiS' of other eastern companies.
It was painted with Humbrol enamels, weathered with humbrols and pastel chalks.
Some scratchbuild details were added, like grab handles on the hood sides,
spare wheel 'basket' and the windshield wiper, made of spare PE sheet.
Ammo boxes are scratched from balsa wood and some alu foil, turned
the wheels also, to give it some more life. The numbers and insygnia
were hand painted.
Hope you will like it, comments and crytique are welcome
Happy modeling
Pedro

Nice job on the scratch builds and on the model as a whole. Nice unique subject too.

Hi Pedro,
Another really nice build. I have one of these somewhere pretending to be a German medical truck, it's a nice unusual subject.
Only observation I would make is it might give a better finish if some of the boxes (excelleny by the way) were stacked on top and tied down with some rope.
I'm no truck expert but it looks great to me. Nice finish and blend of colour.
Thanks for posting these.
Cheers
Al

Thank you for your comments guys!
Al, at first I thought about some boxes on the top too, but
couldn't figure out where to attach the ropes.
I agree it's unusual, but only for modeling world, as in reality
there were some 918,000 of those produced in different outfits,
but still an impressive number
Cheers
