Do you have a pic of the finished product? I'd be curious to see what you came up with? I think it's a great idea!

You do realise that there was an "assault" or "close support" version of the M26, right? The M45 was armed with the same 105mm howitzer as the M4 105 and I think saw action in Korea.

Just a head's up.

Yes I do This version has a 152mm barrel I may be adding a dozer blade to it Basically it's my own "what if" idea Not sure if it'll be set in a Siegfried line setting,or invasion of Japan setting

That 'version' was the pilot enginner vehicle called the T-39. It had a 165MM demolition gun, a bulldozer blade and a 20 ton winch on the back deck.

If I may make a suggestion, go with Japan. You can then add many of the mods seen on Pacific theatre armour to handle the local tactics of the Japanese i.e. wire mesh over the roof, hatches and engine inlets, wood planks along the vertical surfaces. I'd bet bazooka screens would have shown up on Pershings if the invasion of the home islands had gone ahead as the huge area of the side of the tank was too open to pole mines and magnetic charges. The screens might have been extemporized wooden fittings instead of factory steel plates. Leaves lots of scope for funky fittings.

Just a thought.
