I'm just starting off in the world of model making along with my 14 year old son !
Weve bought the kits and are about to start the paint and build !
The subjects are all 1944 US Infantry and German Infantry from the D - Day landings ! Where were slightly confused is that we have a assortment of kits ( i.e. Dragon, Italeri, Tamiya etc ) and all have different paint codes for different products !
We have a local hobby shop with an excellent range of humbrol paints !
So my question is, can anybody help us with what are the correct humbrol colours for both lots of infantry for this period, i.e. US and German ?
Any advice would be gratefully recieved !
Dave

Hello Dave
You can have hours of fun trying to work out the Humbrol matches for the suggested paint colours using this link
Colour equivalents
Or you can have a look at some of the pictures here and make up your own mind, as Humbrol never really did many dedicated colours for WW2 US uniforms
Real US uniforms
Check the rest of the US Army Models site for some more colour suggestions and convert them to Humbrol using the IPMS charts. Like here for instance
more painting suggestions
And don't get too stressed finding the exact match uniforms vary a lot in colour and manfacturer's suggested paint references are sometime a joke. With Dragon figures (or anything else with Ron Volstad artwork) you'll find the boxtop painting is probably the best colour reference (allowing for printing changes).
You can also browse the new Figures site hosted here (see the top line of the page for a link) for more suggestions.
