Need some general feedback on the use of Optivisors. I'm going to order one, have good eyesight , will use it to paint Figs.. Which one do you suggest? I was thinking the model that magnifies 2.5 x's? All feedback greatly appreciated, and considered before ordering. Thanks, J.C.

I have (I believe the 3x version) and like it. I don't use it for long periods of time at one sitting, but it's pretty helpful in reducing eyestrain/neckstrain. I've never tried the higher power versions...

I have one in the 2.5, works good, but lately I've find it more comfortable to use maginfiers that slip over my glasses, that I picked up at the fly tying shop, in various strengths. (Cuts down on the clostrophic feeling with the visor, and easily flip up when not needed, and 1/3 the weight)

I have the LX-4 version which has acrylic lenses and 2 x magnifiication. The focal length is about 10 inches, but I find it to be more like 9 inches. The magnification is good for modelling. Looking back, I wonder how I was able to paint/build any fine detail without it. I added a little terry cloth headband to increase comfort and find I can use it for hours on end. I also find that if I am getting some neck strain, it is because I don't have the visor far enough down to allow me to sit more upright therefore causing me to hunch over at the shoulders.. It takes a little practice to get use to , but the visor is certainly money well spent.
