I'm building the Eduard Hetzer at the moment, and the instructions make you paint the interior, those parts that are not white, Field Grey??
I would have thought that Primer Red would be the colour to go for?
My references are not clear, so I would like to tap the vast resource that is Armorama..

Cheers

My advice would be to use your artistic license that all of us modelers possess. It would be rather difficult finding an accurate resource with your color problem - weather it be by photos or by modelers.

Judging by manufacturing methods of that time I doubt things would be standardized from the beginning all the way to the end.

These are from the Jagdpanzer Hetzer in the Imperial War Museum in London. http://svsm.org/gallery/jagdpanther

Thanks Mike and Paul,

I've decided to go with Primer red, and white(ish).
I've also just realised a (nother) major balls up... The Eduard instructions call for the ready rack on the left, by the radio's, to have the square metal quick release clamps for the shells, and the one hanging off the wall on the right to have the 'belt and buckle' types. All photographic evidence shows it to be the other way round... . Thanks Eduard, for this timely lesson that I should do my research before I build, and not during...
Right, I'm off, back to cleaning the tracks...

Cheers
Henk

Most, if not all of the ones on HERE seem to be G13s or at least restoration jobs.

Hi Dave,
Yes, most 'Hetzers' out there seem to be G-13's, and restored vehicles are next to useless for colour referencing at any rate. Oh well. :-)

cheers

Hi Henk

Even the photos of the interior of the Aberdeen Hetzer like this one look like it's been the victim of the repaint fairy.

Wasn't cutting the side off and leaving it outside enough for them??

From what I've been reading on the internet, I do believe that the tank from the Imperial War Museum has a relatively accurate interior paint job. All of their other military vehicles are extremely accurate (I've personally been to the IWM), so I've no reason to doubt this one.

Here are some photographs from a restoration project of another Hetzer. http://ipmslondon.tripod.com/armourreferencearticles/id26.html

I'm still trolling the internet for more stuff to help you out with.
