hey.
i hav a dio idea involving my sturmtiger,dragon halftrack,dragons 250 engine with mechanics and tamiyas maintenance crew.i want it in an urban setting where the mechanics are fixing the broken afv's.i want the base to be the usual picture frame border and a cobble stone street but im thinking streets back then wernt very wide and this is going to be quite wide but i dont want to add buildings.hopefully you can understand what im trying to say with out a picture- but i will try and get a picture for you soon.any suggestions/comments welcome.

I don't think you need to make it complicated. One part of the cobblestone bordering the frame, a small piece if sidewalk on the other side, that's it.
A tree, a little wall and in between your scene, basta.

I think I get it... how about a court yard. All you need is a small brick wall. That could easily be scratch built. You could add details like built in benches, a gate, a walking gate (small people only), top detail (if you want), a fountain on the wall. Tons of options it establishes your urban setting without forcing a building

Or you could have a fountain like the one found in numerous town squares.
Offset it to one rear corner - have equipment piled next to it and the make shift workshop on the rest of the abse.
You could even have one the mechanics with his pants rolled up splashing around in it - whilst the others point and laugh

There have been some useful ideas posted for you Matt, but if you want to stick with cobblestones, well you'd be surprised at the width of some of the main streets/thoroughfares... But I'd go with a town square or courtyard, as this would make their set up look like it isn't blocking off the mainstreet
