Hi lads, I am currently building an early M50 Sherman as in Suez campaign of 1956 (VVSS).
I know it should be fitted with M4A1 type upper engine plate and M4A1 exhaust / air filters setup,
but how is it possible to fit those big air filters in the space provided by M4A4?
Or could I get away by just using exhaust louvers of M4A4, in case it was fitted
behind these louvers in the real thing?
I'm seeking any advice / ref. photos or model photos of that type of setup.

Thanks in advance
Grzegorz

Pedro, Israeli-weapons has a few photos of M50 with VVSS (M50 Continental?).

Have a look at this site http://www.mheaust.com.au/IDF/Gallery/M4/IDF%20sherman.htm, 4th model down shows the M50 VVSS (M4A4 with M4A1 deck).

Thanks Eric for the reply, unfortunately what I need is, how the exhaust and the
air filters (I suppose that those two bins under rear armor of M4A1 are just that) are set up under the rear plate in the M50, I'm also aware of the engine deck
and it looks like a pretty straightforward and painless conversion.

Thanks for your time

Maybe the guys at the IDF Armour Group can help you out. Also, if you can wait a month or two, a new book on the M50 is due out in late July. I got a sneak preview of it over the weekend and all I can say is WOW!! It'll be a must have for Israeli Sherman fans!
