Mr Muscle Owen cleaner will work. Put the model in a plastic bag, spray with owen cleaner, wait for 24 hours, rinse with water and a tooth brush. Break fluid will work as well.

Hi chris,
I've several commercial paint removers with various degrees of success. But I've just tried Easy Off oven cleaner on a resin bust with primer, enamel base coat and oil paint top coat and it did a great job. Took 99.9% of everything off without any damage. I didn't put the piece in a bag and In only waited about an hour to clean it up. I repeated this once more and was very happy with the results.
I was told to be sure to use the original formula and not the newer scented ( or maybe it was unscented) one.
A few words of caution though. Be sure to do it in a well ventilated area and use some type of protectice gloves. Also, I've had it loosen the bond for PE pieces attached with CA glue.
I haven't tried using it on any plastic figures but I've been told it won't hurt them either.
Best of luck.

Hey, the best ive used so far is pinesol. Put the model in a container with a tight lid. Fill the container about 1/5 the way with Warm water. Then fill the rest (enough to cover the model) with pine sol. Let it sit for 3-4 hours, rinse in warm water and scrub with a hard bristlel paint brush. Do that 1 or 2 more times depending. Ocasionally you will need to take an exacto-blade and carefully take out paint in hard to reach areas.

You could also try Castrol Super Clean.
Non toxic compared to EasyOff which I've also used successfully.
I've removed some very old paint with it and it doesn't hurt the plastic.
Bought at a Auto Supply store in a spray bottle for around 6-7 USD.
Good luck
Gary
