Hi all,

Does anybody out there know if there are any kits available in 1/35 that will enable me to build 15-cwt trucks of the BEF in 1940. Maybe the Bedford MWD, Morris-Commercial CS8 or the Ford(son) WOT2A?
If there are no kits, what about conversions or even plans.

TIA

Stuart, first things first...welcome to the greatest military model building site this side of Saturn.

The Italeri kit is a good start...there used to be a guy here, he's gone now, that could probably answer yer question in a bit more detail though....but for a great start the Italeri kit is wondeful.

REMEMBER THIS IS A "SOFTSKIN" CLASSIFICATION VEHICLE.

Try searching our gallery first. then...If you do a search on Dogpile.com you will come up with a few links like...Missing-lyny.com gallery and others.

good luck.
there's tone of st*ff on the web you can search out.

Lead Sled do a resin kit of the Morris CS8 that fits your BEF time frame

Lead Sled

They also do a Bedford MWD, but it is later than what you're looking for. I have seen an earlier version in the gallery at Missing Lynx but the manufactures name is not mentioned.

early MWD

A Rumanian company called Wespe do a Fordson WO2, no idea what the quality is like.

Wespe

The Italeri CMP Chevy kit mentioned above is a decent model, for a later time frame. Its not suitable for a BEF vehicle, though the chassis may be useful as a basis for a scratch build.

hi there

Welcome to Armorama, best place in ciber town!!!

if u want a cheeper one, the Italeri's one it will be match ur requirements, but if u really want something outstanding then u have two options.

Forson wt3 from Plus models, it is resin kit but the casting is superb and the truck is really a little jewel, the chassis is a kit wthin a kit...

another nice option is Accurate armor's Bedford truck, really nice also and with a nice casting too.

if u decide to go through any of the resin kits....be aware and prepare ur credit card...

Hi Kev,

thanks for the ward welcome. I've only just started to look at British WW2 trucks as a spin-off from my British armour. I had seen the Italeri Bedford but dismissed it at this stage as being bigger ie 3-ton and I don't think they were around for the BEF but I will stand corrected. It would make a welcome change from the norm none the less.

Hi Geoff,

The CS8 from Lead Sled looks impressive as does the Bedford. These are definate candidates and the Fordson is a possiblity but would need to get some decent drawings to see the differences. Will have to try and track down this Bedford kit.
Thanks again
Stuart
