As usual when you go on a Google hunt, all sorts of things appear to distract. While I was searching for Chinese M3A3s, I found this site with some American-crewed M4A4s in the CBI - with British serials

Gday Pat
Never seen this box art before... How long ago was this first released?
And upon inspection of your pic, I have seen some archive pics featuring Shermans with the whiskers on the mantlet...They were never identified as M4A4s...
Cheers

Brad. the M4A4 was first released in this guise in 1996. They also did the rocket armed one and the original firefly at the same time. Note the Aust pattern Carrier in the background.

The Sherman Vs are ex-British stock (obviously) and probably painted SCC13 'Jungle Green'

Yep 6035 M4A4 SHERMAN

1/35 scale
markings for British Chinese and Polish M4A4 provided
Contains photo etched parts

Bear in mind that this the early DML M4A4 which had a lot of problems with hull length and turret fit.

Hull lenght can be corrected in just three cuts, if you dont't mind the wrong pattern
of hulls bottom, only pain would be correcting the exhaust louvers under the rear
overhang. It also has the italeri M4Ax late suspension (nothing wrong in that,
ok, maybe that it's incorrect for the M4A4?)
and whels are detailed only on one side. I can't coment on the turret cause I'm
using a different one anyway. I also wont be using the whiskers decals, so if
somebody would like to put them on some newer, correct release of M4A4,
I can part with them free of charge. Just drop me a note.

Hi David: I was always under the impression that US Lend Lease Shermans to Britain retained their factory OD paint finish unless there was major overhaul (such as converting to Firefly). Is your statement about Jungle Green just an educated guess or have you seen orders stating as such? That would be neat to see -- I'm pretty ignorant about CBI stuff.

Didn't mean to let this thread fade out, been offline for a few days. Should have looked out the copy of Military Modelling which included an Indian Army Sherman, but I didn't have time (always the way...)

I don't have any specific knowledge about SCC13 on Shermans, I've just followed what is generally accepted, specially since the Chinese ones in particular do look very dark.

The only mix for SCC13 I can remember at the moment is the one given on the MAFVA site, on the Resources page HERE and that uses Humbrol paints.

As an amazing coincidence Lucky Models are listing this particular kit as back in stock. I wonder if it is a rebox with the later A4 parts ?
