Ok, saw the NATO Panther II in another topic. I got to wondering what upgrades could be done.

I took some M1 tracks and I think they will work with a sprocket tooth change and a bit of adjustment to the idler wheel.

Next question, could the Panther II be upguned to the British 105 to stay NATO standard?

Might even look good in the three color NATO camo.

Steve, iw ould say ditch the interleaved suspension and go with some thing like the leopard, or even a fifties era vehicle, just a suggestion. i think it would look nice as well in Nato colours. but if you see my post on the nacht jager maus. i did a nice concept camo with diruptive stripes as seen on ships, this evolved into modern splinter schemes seen on chaiftain and challenger takes operating in germany today. so i say its to you. good hunting stug

Think you'll have to stay with the inter leaved wheels. I looked at it and it dosen't look like you could get enough wheels on the ground to spread the load. I also did a little cut and paste in PSP and I think the M1 track will work. I put the teeth from an M1 sprocket onto a Panther sprocket. Allot of teeth but looks like it will work.

I ended up needing to cut almost all the teeth off the DML T80 w ERA and SMT 1989 (Essentially the same kit) since the fit was worse than poor.
Unless you're really looking, and since the drive sprocket is at the back, it's REALLY hard to see they aren't there.

Even with the sprocket up front, just lop off all the teeth and wrap that track around. If super-de-duper detailing is needed, add triangular 'teeth' cut from styrene and placed in from the outside. Again, no one need know they don't glue to the sprocket.

Now, you've got me thinking about the ancient Tamiya Leopard A1 I have out in storage and doing it , reverse engineered, as a Panzer '46..
Ambush scheme or dark green with bands, WWII style tool stowage, gun cleaning rod tube cross the rear deck, Panther stowage bins.. WWII type lights.. maybe some DML night-fighter type figs w the (sorry in advance for the spelling) Liebmunster IR scattering cammo and IR scoped -44's...

Ok, had enough coffee this morning...
