Hi folks, here´s a new project. I´m modifying an Italeri LAV-25 into a Mowag Piranha II 8x8 Chilean Army. This is what I wanna get:

As i said, I´m using a LAV-25 I bought half built as a base, and this is what I have so far, with the following modifications:

- Scratch built the roof and roof hatchs, rear door, stowage bins in place of propellers. All of the previous using plastic sheets.
- Added anti slip surface in the front, using thinned sand paper.

The pics:

Yet to do a lot of things, I will inform you all progress.

Comments and ideas most welcome as usual

Cheers

Very nice Klaus. Great job! I am definitely interested in seeing more photos when you make more progress on the project.

If you would be willing to make these photos available to me, I would happily post them on WarWheels.Net (and give you the credit of course) when you're finished.

If this is something you'd be interested in doing, please contact me direct at [email protected] .

I'm loving it so far. May I ask what you are using ´for the nonskid free panals on the front? I assume that's what they are.

One at the time, please....:-)

- Patrick, thanks for the offer, let me see how well it´s finished and talk to the Editors around here, OK?

- Charles, thanks for the coments, as I said, the anti skid panels are made from sand paper (only the surface). My bad english vocabulary, oh well....

Klaus,
Nice progress on the Pirana, I wonder how you get so much time to build all of these great kits, I think they must have you locked in a room somewhere.

Regards,

John

Hi folks, a little update in the build.....

I re-build the periscopes, made the firing ports and applied the decals and first paint to the wheels, hull and non skid surfaces....

Great!
When I saw the anti slip surfaces I thought you exaggerated with drybrushing... but a closer look made me aware of that good work!

Great work, Klaus! A nice custom model that looks right-on to the actual AFV.

Thanks to all, but still have to learn a lot from more pro people

But it´s not finished yet, lacks the 50 cal MG and a small touch of drybrush in certain areas, and some weathering (love the weathered vehicles, you know :-) :-)

More pics (of the finished model) soon......

Cheers
