Nice work, its a fine model, and I can see that it wasn“t only my sample that suffered from a warped upperhull..
I replaced most of my handles too, but got lazy on those hidden by the turret overhang.
remember to sand down those square high areas on the turret sides for the smokelaunchers - if you are doing a wwII tank.

A fine piece of work so far Frank. When you bended the warped upper hul, did you heat it first?

Hi Jesper,
No heating, just some careful bending back. The internal bracing was necessary to offset the parts' unwilling tendency to stay unwarped!
Does anyone have a colour photo of what the WW2 bronze green looks like?

Great looking Comet Frank cant wait to see further progress pictures
The warped hull seems to be a common fault , I read another recent review which mentioned the exact same problem , but as you have pointed out its not a major that cant be corrected

How are the kits tracks in term of detail ?

Hi Ian,
The tracks are very nicely detailed, and fit tight, so give the resin return roller an extra touch of C.A. glue before fitting the tracks on.

If I may ad, the tracks are very nice, but the joint is not easy to get nice - they are better hidden behind the sidefenders.

Well Ian, comparing the kit to availeble photos show the kit turretring to be way to small, in fact, don“t waste your time making the gun movable, theres really not room enough for anyting worthwhile.

The gun was the same calibre as the 17pdr - 76.2mm, but was actually a different gun firing different ammo. It was developed as it had a shorter recoil and could fit more esily into a tank turret with very little loss of power over the 17pdr. developements in ammo meant it actually had better armour penetration later in it's life.

Frank,
Bronze green is a post war colour.
WW II Comets were painted SCC15 Olive Drab, like everythiing else in the Comonwealth in NW Europe. Tamiya OD with a wee splash of medium green will do the trick.
