Hi all!

I have to scratchbuild grenade launchers for my early M50, I was thinking of recreating those from the pieces of sprue, but I need some basic dimensions for that. So if anybody with dragons M50 could possibly measure the parts for me, I would be very gratefull. I need dimensions like: lenght of tube, diameter of tube, and spacing from the turret at the support. I think I can convert inches to milimeters, but metric dimensions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Grzegorz

Hmm, thought this would have been answered sooner as well! Anyhow, I checked mine in the kit, it looks like Evergreen .100" (2.5mm) styrene rod is the closest diameter size, and they are 8mm in length. (the tube part itself, that is, the part that sticks out beyond the mount.)
Hope this helps. If you can wait a couple more weeks, I can measure the real one, I hope to be going by the one in Olds again. Or if you need any other detail shots.
Oh yah, the spacing is about 2mm, slightly angled out.

Cheers,
Jim

Hey Jim, many thanks for those measurements!
I'm not that strict to have to have real thing measured
I have only one additional question, the tube sticks out on the both ends of mount
when I look at the real photos, so is the 8 mm the lenght from behind the mount, to the end in front of the mount, or just the part that sticks in front of the mount?

Thanks again for your time!

Grzegorz,
Here's a few photos that should help. The small disk that is behind the mount is about .5mm thick.

Note that the base of this mount is angled. The other one on each sprue is straight across, so one points forward, the other one would be angled out on each side. Does that make sense?

Cheers,
Jim

Hey Jim!
That answers all the questions I could have had about the grenade launchers!
Hearty thanks for those answers you gave me! Now I can start building
the launchers and I will post photos of the finished turret in a few days

Cheers
Grzegorz
