In truth Having sat here comparing colours, Brown Bess is unique I am afraid and there is nothing in their line of which I have most of the browns, that is anywhere near it, even the Matt Chocolate number 98, I must admit that when I was told that it was going I bought 2 of the 6 tinlet boxes and hopefully although that was some years ago, I hope that they will last me a long way into the distance. I must admit it is one of those colours that seems to have become an idea to the masses since it was discontinued. I would say look in every shop you pass, particularly the small independant ones and you may be lucky.

The photos I found online show a range of colors, from a reddish brown, close to burnt umber to very dark brown, similar to van dyke and at least one with a very notioceable bulr to the wood.
