Greetings all,
Just got an email from Lucky Models listing some New Items/Arrivals they have. One of the kits is the Dragon M4A4 Sherman No DR 6035 in 1/35 scale.
Is this just a re-issue of the original M4A4 or has this kit been upgraded in some way?
Any thoughts? Here's the link:
http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=DR%206035
It it's a re-issue any thoughs as to quality and build issues etc???
Cheers
Al

I'd wager that the improvements to the Firefly Vc kit are most likely going to be reworked into the M4A4 only if they renumbered the kit.

Hi Robin,
It would be very useful if it's a newer version. I haven't started the conversion on my second Mk V yet so this might be an easier and better option. Lets see what information comes up. At $19.42 even with shipping it's a good price.
Cheers

I picked one up on e-bay some months ago and it was No DR 6035 .

Hi,
looking at the box art it's the old kit. It was the first I tried to build when I got back into the hobby for the first time, 11/12 years ago. If it is the same kit it has decals for a Chinese tank in Burma and major pain in the a**** indy links. I can't remember anything about accuracy as it was before the internet and easy access to reference materials.
Cheers

I think the rule is if the kit number hasn't changed then the contents haven't changed.
This kit has major inaccuracies in the lower hull and the turret. It also has the upswept arm suspension where it should have the straight.
Some of the problems and fixes are outlined here in Mike Canaday's page

To make an accurate M4A4 I would buy the latest DML Firefly and work from that.

Hi Pat,
I have the 2nd Firefly and necessary bits I just hadn't go around to starting it yet and thought the M4A4 might save me the trouble, but it looks like I'll stick with what I have.
Cheers for that, pity.
