Hi Solin:
The Italeri version of the BM13 Katyusha is actually based on a Zis 151 which wasn't built till 1948, so the Germans wouldn't have seen one.

Wartime Katyushas were built on Russian Zis 5 and American Lend-Lease Studebaker 2 1/2 ton trucks, as well as on surplus T-60 tank chassis and Stalinetz tractors.
The Zis-151 version in the Italeri kit represents a postwar vehicle, built from 1947-57. It's a possibility for the Korean War, but not World War Two.

It wouldn't be the first time a model company has gotten the history behind the model wrong. Your own research pays off.

heres some suggestions on what you can do with the BM-13 rocket launcher;

(this is the short wheel base,ive heard that the long wheel base was used,but haven't found any pics)

theres also a few other suggestions on this site.

Alan makes the BM-13 rocket launcher on the Zis-6 truck,or you can pick up a Eastern Express Gaz-AAA,and take the Italeri BM-13 launcher,and rework it to fit the frame.

But Italeri's rocket laucher is not WWII era
