Can anyone confirm if Loyd carriers were a standard issue to all British / Commonwealth Infantry regiments, or were they only issued to specific regiments.
Thanks for any information provided.
Cheers
Kevin

Kevin,
They were standard issue, mainly used by support weapons platoons, mortars/anti-tank etc
Some regiments used universal carriers for this but the loyd was designed for the role.

Hi Kevin,
How's it going??? Been over to Accurate Armour :-) :-) :-) :-) ? I think they have done an outstanding job with the offering of 4 different versions of the Lloyd carrier.
Even with all my fobias about resin and PE I'm just going to have to have some of these little beauties, hopefully in the not too distand future.
Have fun mate, will you be adding the Resicast 6 pounder which is also an outstanding bit of kit?
I'd go with Joe on this one they were issued as standard for the Spt Wpns Pls or you can have the Battery Charging version for your armoured units.
Cheers

Al,
Sadly didn't get as far as AA only Portugal.
But I have been convinced to go with the 6 pdr gun tower. The Resicast 6 pdr will have to be next I guess.
No problem with the Bronco stuff. When are you off?
Joe,
Thanks for the suggestions. 6 pdr it is.
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
Hope you had a good and relaxing trip, pity about the trip to AA LOL, LOL.
Derek Barton has done an excellent and timely review of the Lloyd Carrier which I'm sure you will have picked up on.
The 6pdr is a good choice, enjoy the build. Hope to be doing a bit of traveling from next week but have left the arrangements up to the better half.
Anything interesting on the WD front? I will have to try and fit in another visit to the National Archives before work takes over in August/September.
All the best.
