No disrespect to Jaume, and his excellent painting, but I like the look of the plain figures! The sculpting is marvellous. Did you sculpt them, Taesung?

Would not expect anything less from Jaume. Top class and inspirational painting as always.
But to be fair .... the Alpine figure have to be seen to be believed. Top quality, and have such a canvass to start off from, is a dream for anybody considering painting figures. I prepared the early war panzer crew today for painting, and the details are nothing short of spectacular.

I love the leather work. And the faces. And the shading on the black.

Taesung,
Does Jaume paint these with oils or acrylics?

Fantastic work both the figure and the painting!

Thanks,
Jim

I'm not Taesung or Jaume, but I do know that Jaume uses acrylics.

As far as "how does he do it?" Here is a book Osprey and I swear there used to be a website that had a 1 page tutorial w/pics on a face that he did, but I can't find it.

Hello Gents
Thank you all for the kind words!
These figures will be released in a few weeks.

Yes, Alpine is my company. I started the company a few years back
and now have about 40 items. I did sculpt all the figures excelpt the
1/16 GD Officer by Mike Good.

When I visite Jaume last year, I had a chance to see Jaume at work.
He uses Vallejo acrylic paints mixed with Tamiya flat coat. What's amazing
is that he works small area at a time with a finest brush I have ever seen.
I think the key to his natural color blend is his usage of a paint palette.
He has all different shades of colors ready to be mixed on the palette.
It make the job a lot easier since acrylic paints dries up with a hurry.

Hmmm... interesting... Jaume has been an inspiration for me and I use his online tutorial as guide to paint my figures.

He didn't mention anything about mix V.A. with Tamiya flat coat in his tutorial. Does he do this with every color?

Taesung, your product is excellent. Please keep up the great job and thanks for offering your talent to this hobby.

some VMC's dry slighttly shiney, so he flattens them with the Tamiya. So to my knowledge, not every colour. Can't remember which though but he posts over on Timelinesforum and discusses his colour mixes

Taesung,
Thanks for the info. By the way has anyone introduced to our new historical miniatures site, Historicus Forma? www.hfmodeling.com

Most of our hard core figure modelers are based there now. It would be great if you could post stuff like this on both sites, but if not I can probably get Rudi to create a news item for them.

Cheers,
Jim

This post was just to show Jaume's painting.
I'll post again when the figures are ready to be released.

Hi Taesung,

These look great, as if we expected anything less from Mr Ortiz :-)

As Jim mentioned, please feel free to pop in and check out Historicus Forma. I notice Jaume visits us fairly often, tell him not to be shy and come say "Hi"

Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Folks
Sorry for the belated answer but I missed this thread.
Well,I thought the figure forum was moved to HF.
(Rudi,I check HF every day. It's a nice site...

Thank you for the nice comments.
Painting Alpine figures is easy because the sculpt is so good that you can not go wrong.

Best regards
