Hi guys, I'm new to using photo-etch. Used it on my last car model, but armored vehicles really get a lot more! My question is: I have the trumpeter LAV-25 kit, and the Eduard photo-etch set for it, which includes some screens that go over the engine grilles on the deck. Do you guys generally paint the grilles first, then glue on the PE, or glue the PE down, then spray the whole shooting match.
Thing two: The eduard kit shows pieces-parts for equipping an M60-type pintle mount MG, which is incorrect, and in any case, not in the Trumpeter kit. Does anyone know where to get an M240-type pintle mount MG?
Thanks!

Attach the photo etch pieces and then use a primer when the build is complete, some use flat black, but I prefer a grey primer colour to cover all the plastic, photo etch, and any other materials....then you can do your base coat(s).
So far the only producer that I have heard of doing a regular mount or the newer scissor mount for the M240 is AEF Designs for their LAV 25 upgrade set.
Warriors had mentioned they would be working on a LAV 25 detail set for the Trumpeter kit when it first came out but it hasn't yet materialized...maybe one day.

That is the way I do it.

No AM sets out with them yet that I know of. There were a few members here who were working on them to cast up and sell though.
