Its going well. I'm at the stage of airbrushing, but not wanting to airbrush. I've painted the interior a faded green (using a mix of white and Tamiya's NATO Green and it compares well to photos, so I'm happy). I also added the SINCGARS radio and all that goes with it. I'm really happy with how that went.
Unfortunately, those racks are pretty well glued down, I'll see if I can remove them, but I'm not so sure.
As for the racks, I believe you. One of the first things I thought was why put ammunition in the back, strapped down when you need it now to reload, Using the M1114 TM, I see what you mean here with a 40mm rack right next to the gunner's platform:
But here is what I based my cargo off of:
So I don't know. The other problem I'm running into is time. I go back to school in 2 weeks and have job training and the process of packing all next week, plus getting all the medical crap that comes with trying to contract ROTC...yeah . So I'm not sure I'll be able to finish by the end of next week....which means nothing until at least Thanksgiving. Oh well. But I'm trying to get as much done without rushing it. I will definitely get pictures up and running. I definitely would like to know how Pete is doing on his...

Jeff,
The one problem I have is taking on to many projects at once. Along with a preganent signifcant other and thre step sons, I try to get in any modeling when I can.
I was asked to write a couple of Step By Step's for the Historicus Forma, so I have 5 1/35th figuers and 2 120mm figures on the bench for that. I also have a Dragon Tiger, Trumpeter LAV-25 on the bench along with the M1114.
But it is comeing along nicely. I had to dig out some old photo etch frets for some tie downs and other little goodies for the rear of the M1114. I gonna attempt to scratch build some "smoke poppers" for the top. Other than that, it's almost ready for paint.

Would like to see someone paint their gunshield like this one:
Never can seem to get pix imported right, so here's the URL if the picture didn't make it...

:-) Thats cool. Of course this'll be my first airbrush project, so there ain't no way (ah crap there goes my Hoosier speech) I'm doing that. Looks like someone has an afinity (sp?) for hunting. That would be interesting to see as a decal. Too bad its on an ACAV turret.
