Hi!
I just noticed a terrible thing this morning when I started my painting session, the paint on some places on the dragon I am painting had cracked!!! You can not see it perfect on the picture, it is worse in real life.
Luckily it is not that much and he is not such an important fig that I have to repaint him, but I thought I should tell you guys.
I think it is due to me holding in the wings with my hands prior to painting them and therefor leaving a thin layer of grease. I did not thought the paint (Vallejo acrylics) was that sensitive, but now I know better. From now on I will wash my hands every half an hour I am painting...
Perhaps this was common knoledge, but hopefully this helps someone out there to not get his paint crack.

What I do to minimise handling is to drill a hole in the foot of the figure and superglue a pin or wire in thgen stick the protruding end of the pin into a wine cork and only handle that. On a metal item like your dragon perhaps use a pin vise.

Hi Andreas,
if I'm going to paint clumpsy and large models I always use latex handgloves. Just ideal
Especially usefull when you're going to airbrush.
Cheers!
