recently joined armorama and ready to post my first topic.
First of all I LOOOOVE this site!!!!
It's everything a modeler can hope for. My mother used to say to me that I spent too much time behind my desk building models and now she says that I'm too long on the net (guess which site I'm on).
Anyway keep'm modeling and hope that my mother comes around
Now my question:
I'm building a M113 medevac during desert storm, but I have no idea what bumper codes these vehicles wore. I mean for example an armoured unit has a triangle, but what is used to represent a medical unit.

The bumper numbers on M113A2s or M113A3s used during the Gulf War would most likely belong to the medical platoon of the Headquarters and Headquarter Company (HHC) of an armor or mechanized infantry battalion. I'm not sure about the particular track number, but the bumper number would be something like 1CAV 3Δ32 (on left as looking at front or rear of vehicle) and HHC-700 on right. Some battalions used HQ-XXX and some used HHC-XXX and some used both (HQ on a staff vehicle and HHC on a support vehicle). My battalion used a combination of both. I believe our medical platoon used the -700 series number with the HHC-700 as the platoon leader's HMMWV, HHC-701 was their M35A2, -702, 703 their M577A2 aid stations and the various M113A2 ambulances were -704 and above. Or something like that.
The only medical units that would have used M113A2/3 units were the medical companies in Forward Support Battalions (FSB). The medical company in an FSB is C company, I'm not sure if the Main Support Battalion (MSB) used armored ambulances or which company was the medical company.
