Well, I got about 8 hours this weekend to work on my Trumpeter KV-1E. What can I say, this kit it awesome. It was simple to build, the detail is great and the intructions were straight forward. The link and length tracks were great to work with. I really enjoyed this kit. Now all I got to do is paint an weather the beast :-)
I would be posting pics here but my cameras batteries went dead I will try to post some pics tommorrow.
If you havent already built one of these critters, I recommend it most highly. It has been one of my most enjoyable builds yet.
Take care all

Alright, after getting a nice soccer injury, I am finally able to get down my stairs to take pics.
The tracks are not joined(leaving seperate for painting and weathering)
The side fenders are not joined yet either. The clear pieces have been left off until painting is done.
So here they are:
Any comments welcome

Hey Brian,
Nice build. Really clean.
How do you paint your wheels and tracks? Do you build it first then paint or paint it first then glue it on?

I was coming along good with my KV-I, until I got to the drivers hatch. It didn't fit right, so I trimmed it and made it worse, and it still doesn't fit! Also, in the process of attaching the chain loops to the ring I broke one...grr! So, I sat the KV-I aside yesterday, and started on the StugIIIB. One day I will return to the KV.

Thanks guys for the comments
@Wildcard: I built the tracks and wheels first. For the tracks I assembled the bottom run with the drive sprocket. I then did the return wheel to the top. So basically each sides tracks are in two pieces. The link and length tracks worked well with this method. I plan to paint the wheels and tracks seperate and then attach them.
@Jung. I never had any problem with this build. The only frustrating part was drilling all those holes. Especially drilling them in the turret.

Well, mine is similar but it's Tamiya brand. I was one step away from drilling the holes...don't know why they can't do it at the factory.
