I've gotten some Gunze Acrylics and some of the flat base. How exactly do you use the flat base with the gloss colors?

The best way is to experiment. One part flat base to three parts gloss will usually work. Too much flat base will give a dusty look so go easy with it. You can always add a little more if you see the need.

i've tried a mix of 1 part gunze flat clear to 2 parts thinner (mr. hobby thinner, also from gunze) and it came out ok. if the mix still seems cloudy to you, just add some more thinner.
