Before I get myself in trouble i just want to check this.
I painted a model with Tamiya acrylics-sealed it with Tamiya gloss, and now I am preparing to give it a wash with model-master enamels burnt umber and mineral spirits.
Should this be allright or will I have problems, from what I read I believe this combo should work.
Thanks

Should not be a problem, but I'd advase againt the idea of slopping paint all over the model then wipingoff the excess. Take a fine brush and apply a small amount in panel lines, at the base of raised objects and anywhere two parts come together. Capillary action will draw the wash along.

The key is having a well cured gloss base. I use Future and let it cure for at least 48 hrs.

hey, i'm getting ready to apply a wash on my king tiger (just my second model). do i really have to put on a gloss coat before the wash? i have a bottle of future that i haven't used because i'm afraid of making the model all shiny. after i apply future and then the wash, how do i get the "flatness" back? will a coat of gunze sangyo flat clear do the trick?

Rovic, if you're applying decals, you'll need to applay a layer of gloss anyway. Any clear flat except that Tamiya flatbase will return your model to an appropriate level of flat.
That said, I have also applied a wash directly to a model without glossing it first and not really had any problems.
