Hi,
Ok, let's see if I can ask this question wihout confusing anyone. I was wondering if I can get some help on the color I should use to drybrush certain parts on this 88 FLAK and transport (pics below). I would like to have the edges show a bit of metal but don't really want to use straight silver as it will not look correct. I am really interested in somewhat "scratching" the area rear of the gun (where the shells go in) but really don't know what color would be most appropriate based on the color I used for the kit.
Any help on this will be appreciated.

Ok,
This is kind of what I am looking at doing (see rear of gun - breech?)
What color do you all think the scratches are?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Rob
If you can get Games workshop paints in your area , they do a colour called boltgun metal I use it for all applications that need to show bare metal.
Another alternative is to get a Hb pencil , shave of the tip and grind the graphite into a powder you can then rub this on on the surfaces you require to show bare metal

To reproduce the image I would use Tamiya dark gray first to get the general area, then for just the corners I would use Tamiya aluminum.

Hi Rob
Im not sure if you have stores in the highstreet in the US Rob , but Games workshop do have a US online store ....
http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=304328&orignav=300810&GameNav=300810
With regards to using graphite powder , as you have discovered its better to apply on a flat coat , it does not adhere well to a gloss finish

Hi again Ian,
Thanks for the link. You know what, I was looking trough some of my paint stash tonight looking for some color I could use for this and stumbled upon a GUN METAL paint jar. What do you think about this? I'll try and see if it works on a small area under one of the transports.
Thanks again,
Rob
