Hi guys, I'm building the Milicast Black Prince right now, super little kit. Unfortunately the barrel is somewhat wonky as can be seen from the photo.

What would be the best way to straighten this out? The resin is quite rubbery btw

Thanks

Hi Neil,

You could try softening it in hot water and trying to straighten it that way but it looks pretty crook.

If it came in that state could you not get a replacement from the manufacturer?

Alternatively look for a metal replacemnt barrel which might be the easiest option.

Can't think of anything else.

Cheers

First I'd ask Milcast for another and if that doesn't work I'd do like kevin said and use brass.

I would use a hair dryer and some gloves to protect your hands. At least this way you can save the water!

In my experience, using a hair dryer imparts more heat than water and give you more time to straighten the resin.
