I have a few Humbrol Enamals but I see others use Acrylics (Tamiya). Could someone tell me which is better for painting figures, or is it jusr personal preference? Thanks!

Well I dont do figures (cant see that small) but I have switched almost exclusively to acrylics for my painting. I started with enamels but have found the joy of easy cleanup and less smell. My wife like me more now as well :-)

Hi Harry
I dont like Tamiya acrylics for figure painting they are to thin( but apparently are great for airbrushing) but if you want to try acrylics for figure painting, you cant go wrong with Vallejo

HD=Home Depot maybe? Just guessing. I use MM Acryl exclusively for my armor models and a mixture of "craft paints" for my figures. Use W&N oils for the flesh on the figures.
Like Mark, ease of clean up is the main reason.

Well I hope it takes a long time before they get rid of enamels. I like them a whole lot better. As for the smell, What smell?

There should be plenty of latex enamel house paint out there A little different from rustoleum or hobby paints. HD has never sold a custom-mixed solevant based enamel before, auto paint stores do though. I have always preferred enamel but if the colors are only available in acryl, its no big deal to switch. Some models I use laquer sprays(tamiya) acrylic and enamel paint, all sealed with Dulcote on the same model.... .
