thnks! the snow is baking soda + hair spray (aerosol), work it in kind of thin layers, cover the areas you want the snow and spray, repeat as many times you want, I used like 4 layers, keep some distance or the hairspary will blow away the baking soda.
Cheers!

Hi,
Very nice dio's! I like the Berlin Dio very much. Is the groundwork a bit shiny or should it look wet ?
Your snowwork is very convincing also.
What i don't like are the holes in the Stalingrad-Dio wall. You drilled them in, and you can even see the point of the drill ! They need to be more irregular and smaller if they are supposed to be bullet holes.
Cheers

thank for the comments guys, the stalingrad vignette was my first proyect it has a lot of mistakes but its my fav, dont know why! the bullet holes are poorly done, thank you for the comment.
But I like more the terrain and snow in Leningrad, guess I was a little more comfortable working those elements IMHO.
Ragarding the terrain in the Berlin dio, I wanted to do something wet but not a messy muddy terrain, cuz I just didnt know how to do it hahaha.
Thanks again for looking!
Cheers!

Gday Porsch
I think your snow technique looks terrific! Very convincing...
I'm hoping you are saying these are your first 'complete' dios, and that you have many more over many years of practise examples... :-)
I wouldn't have said the irregular edge of the Berlin diorama/vignette would work, but it has, beautifully! The irregular shapes of all the dioramas are quite creative, and really work for what you have done...
Great stuff
Cheers
Brad

Gday Bradley, thanks for looking and for your kind comments!, actually those are all of my proyects Ive done in almost the two years of modelling, its funny because I just realized that I spend more time looking up for techniques and saving pictures (I have more than 6000 pics!) in my pc.
The point is that I spend a lot of time doing research and little time modelling, slow modeller here! but it has some advantages i guess.
About the irregular edges, I dont like a flat dio, since I love city fighting and rubble I had to do those edges in order to achieve the irregularities of a heavily damaged city terrain, at first I hated it! hahaha.
Thanks again for your reply
happy modelling
Cheers!

Your dioramas look really cool. So i wanted to ask few questions:
1. How were the wals made in Berlin and Stalingrad dios?
2. What do you use to make landscape (seafoam) ?

Hi there guys,
Thanks to all of you for the kind comments,
The brick walls,
For the Stalingrad vignette I used the really cheap Tamiya birck wall set, I just cut out some bricks to give the irregular and damaged edge.
For the Berlin dio I used a piece of plaster and scribed the bricks with a little screwdriver, I decided to use the plaster because the Tamiya wall is almost impossible (for me at least) to give some realistic combat damage look.
The ground work
I first build up the elevations of the terrain with pieces of the white protective stuff that comes with Tvs, DVDs, VHS, I cut out many pieces and work the irregularities, then I pour a mix of earth form my backyard with PVA and the some water (it should look like mashed potatoes a litle more runny), plz sort out big rocks, leaves, branches, the mix has to be free of big stuff.
When still wet add anything you desire like bricks, broken balsa, rocks in various sizes, helmets, weapons, etc, hey I love rubble!
Hope to be useful,
