I am considering building some functionality to allow users to set up their own merchant storefronts within some kind of "Armorama-mall" concept. The idea would be for people like Anders or even Vince Wai (who already has a store but what the heck... have 2!). Basically the storefront would allow you to add your own products with info, pricing, etc. and then have a shopping cart system that could easily handle payment processing like paypal or even regular credit cards (with you arranging the credit card merchant account). The monthly cost for something like this (for the merchant) is still up in the air. It could be a flat monthly fee or even a percentage of sales.

I am interested in feedback from people who might actually use a feature like this to sell their own hobby creations.

Sounds intriguing JIm. I like the idea because it would foster support more directly with fellow Armorama folk. As I've illuded to before, I want to support advertisers and supporters but would prefer if I knew there was direct benefit back to the site.

If it can be done within your resources I say - go for it.
