Hey All,

Finally got a couple of the new Tamiya CharB1bis tanks and was hoping someone who had the Squadron Book " Blitzkrieg " by Steve Zaloga could help me out by scanning and sending my the color plates of the Char B.
If anyone can help me I would be very appreciative.
Please let me know at [email protected]

Thanks

I don't have a scanner but there's only three:

"Fantasque" "Auvergne" and "Villers-Marmedy"

Steve himself says that the color plates of this quite old book aren't the most accurate. "Auvergne" seems particularly suspect.

You're much better off looking here instead:

Well Thomas, as you've spent money on the original models, I rather think you could actually invest some money in some reference material...

Start with THIS if you can spend money on two Char Bs, In the final analysis, you DON'T need freebies...

Thanks for the link Roy , Jim, I have been looking for that book on ebay, amzon and a few other places for over a week with no luck; a past friend of mine had the book and I remembered it had a color plate of this tank with branches painted on as camo and thought it would be an interesting paint job but as Roy kindly pointed out that Steve says it not the most accurate then I guess I won't need the book after all.
And as for the2 kits? I have been saving a little here and there since it was released for sale and finally bought one and the second was from my brother who saw it in Brookhurst hobbies and remembered I wanted one so therefore I have two! Do i need freebies? no not really but I have asked on ocassion for help on info on a subject I rarely build but someone else might and I have helped in return; I thought that was one of the reasons for great sites like this.

Armorama, I apologize to the rest of you but maybe the time of day, read it wrong but Jims assumtion on how I got 2 kits and that I DONT need freebies ticked me off.

Hi Thomas

Things have moved on since Steve Zaloga's book, as you will have seen if you've checked Chars Francais. IMHO the plate for Villers Marmedy is the most suspect as it A/ mis-reads the name and B/ interprets the blue stripe on the turret rear as part of the camouflage. A ground-breaking in book in its day, but now superseded by Trackstory as a source of accurate info

More B1bis here (in French)
