The first two pics are front and back of the same vehicle. What is "SPT 432"? Is "D0064" a vehicle number of some sort (longer number on front - shorter version on rear) or does that have to do w/ 4-64 armor?
In the last pic, the stencil under the driver's floor window starts with "HQ" but what would the rest say?
Note that I have reviewed Pete's markings article here and I suppose "SPT 432" is a support battalion's number, but on the left I thought the battalion is noted as first battalion - 64th Armor. Does this mean the 432 is temporarily attached to 1-64?
Thanks.
Bob

SPT 432 is the unit and vehicle admin #, Support PLT, vehicle # 432.
D0064 is the UIC, Unit Identifier Code, for 4-64 AR, it is used for keeping track of vehicles when they are shipped.
Bumper # on the bottom pic looks like something like HQ 859 or something like that. Can't really make it out.

We commonly refer to the "D0064" as a "Delta" number. Gino was correct in stating that it is used for tracking a vehicle. Each vehicle in my Company/Battalion has a unique "Delta" number assigned. However, our delta numbers have absolutely zero in common with our Unit Identifier Code (UIC). Our UIC's are six digit and for example B Company of my Battalion was WXALB0, C Company was WXALC0, etc.
Each of our vehicles is stenciled with a bumper number, "delta" number and our UIC.

Support Platoon vehicles are normally numbered in the 400 range with either HHC or HQ (and apparently SPT) as the company designator. This depends on the division SOP.

Most likely a result of night driving/tired driver. Rollovers were not uncommon. Many roads were a little elevated and no guardrail. It wouldn't take much to rollover a non-tracked vehicle. I think this truck was then pushed aside even further after the accident.

Would HQ 561 be okay? That's a stencil that would be good for me.

Mark it as you like. If none of us can tell what the # actually is, no one else will be able to either. It should be fine, go for it.
