I'm a very happy bunny, even my car developing a big problem can't dampen my spirits right now..
After 5 years on the shelf (well, truth be told, in a variety of boxes..) I will finaly finish my AFV Club M18 Hellcat. I shelved (ok, boxed ) the project when I could not find a replacement for the practical joke that masquerades as 'rubber band' tracks that come with the kit.
Today, at the Doncaster get together, I found the elusive Modelkasten set for the Hellcat. For £5........
Who care about mere car, when things like that happen to you once in a while?

Happy

Isn't great when you finally find that elusive part that you need to finish off a project!!!

Would love to see some pics as the Hellcat is one of my favourite TD's!!

Five pounds! Now that's a bargain.
I hope I come across such deals someday too.

Btw, are you going to enter that to the Meow campaign?
(Was it untill the end of the year? I can't see it in the campaign section. It might be just some bug, I can see the little head next to two campaign, where I haven't participated, and my name is not on the list)

I got AFV-club's M18s in my stash as well and I was thinking about participating.

Henk,

You did seem a very happy bunny yesterday when you found these. The kit stash at the show was great. :-)

Pics will follow soon...

Hi Bradley,

I was not hindered by any references other than one book I had when I first bought this kit five years ago, but I knew that it was painted OD, so who needed references.. :-) :-) :-) Since then I have discovered Armorama and realised that there is a lot more to painting AFV's...never mind building Shermans.. :-) :-) :-) .
Thanks for the pic, and as we are on the subject, the kit has two parts to go in the bins at the front side of the turret. They look like canvas coverd windows, with wipers?? What are they???

Cheers

You ain't gonna believe this Henk...
But they are "canvas covered windows, with wipers!"
They would be the foul weather hoods for the driver and bow-gunners hatches. Shermans had them also... They fitted over the hatch leaving the small opening for vision c/w wiper...
Cheers mate

Hi all,

Just one pic for now, to show that progress has been made... The Modelkasten tracks are marvelous, go together just like that, and look great.

Cheers
