Gday all
Have done a test run with a figure in the commander's hatch...
He is dressed for the cold, and is wanted to be used on a stationary tank... He will be talking to a figure at ground level...
What I really want to know is if he looks accurate in the way he is posed, positioned, etc. He has gloves and a cigar in his right duke... Those in the know would pick the Alpine head and Warriors TD crew body... Cobbling together some leftovers to hopefully make something worthwhile...
I think his head should be set deeper into the scarf? (ie. cut orf some neck)

Yeah he looks good. You're right about the neck though he looks a bit turtle like at the moment :-)
What I do is drill a deeper hole that way you can pack the whole with putty ubtil you're satisfied that the head looks right rather than possibly taking off too much neck.

Gday Pat
Yep that sounds a perfectly feasible way of going about it... Think I have a drill bit to suit...
He has a touch of turtle-face as well I reckon! :-)

Length of the neck doesn't look too bad, a little thin maybe. Pat's suggestion about drilling a deeper hole is an excellent one, specially if you can find a bit that gives a tight fit for the neck, it really helps if you can slide the head about until it looks natural. Fixing with 5-minute epoxy allows a bit of fiddling before it's fixed for good.
