Currently I'm working on a large Normandy dio and have seen that Quartermasters Depot does British Guards insignia very cheaply. Firstly i'd like to know if their stuff is any good as I've always used Archers? Secondly is it purely waterslide or is it dry transfers? Thirdly if they're waterslide how much carrier film is there on them? I'd be grateful of any responses, either positive or negative as I like to know what I'm buying.

I liked it and have had no problems. I have ordered US insgnia, both modern and WW2. They are all waterslide, and you have to have some skill with the scissors as it comes as one big sheet that you have to cut yourself. The film is think enough to give it some sturdyness and strength against tearing easily, but not too much as to be overly notcieable once cut to the right size and placed over a painted figure.

Many thanks for the speedy response Kevin! I'll go ahead and order some on your reccomendation. Archers are nice but it's costing me a fortune on insignia for this dio when you consider you only get enough divisional insignia for 8 troops. End result is I end up with a pile of regimental shoulder insignia and no div flashes B***dy annoying!

Thanks Al. Quite an interesting site and pricewise they're pretty good. The way things are going with the rapidly expanding project (I said I was never going to do a big dio again :-) ) I may have to try them as well.

If you want a lot of a specific marking then you might want to contact Dana Nield (owner) and he may just print you up a sheet of just what you want if the actual graphics are already available to him. Might be cheaper.
