I am finishing up my first model in years and I have come to a painting problem. I have very little referance material on US stuff, manily a eastern front builder. What color should the fire extuengisher, thing to the left of the drivers feet, be? I have seen referance saying bright brass, OD , and red. Which is correct for WWII?

Hi Scott!

I published a walkaround for a WW2 Willy's from the 101th Airborne in Holland on Armorama once. It can be usefull. You can find it here: the Willy's walkaround on Armorma.

Here 2 pictures from it, showing a brass colored fire extuengisher. I asume that those guys in this AFV collector's club are critical on there vehicels, so that's why I think the brass is authentic.
OD is also an often used alternative.

Paul

:-) I must admit I had to think twice before opening the link in work!

Back to the subject..... i've only seen the extinguishers on Jeeps in either Brass or OD.
