to re-aquaint themselves with the 2 technique's
The articles are by Bernard Cher, and are very decriptive

Thanks for the post Scream. I am going to apply my washes tonight on my M4A1, it's a nice refresher article and will be nice to do some work again. I haven't touch this project for 3 1/2 weeks, just to busy with other things.

Geeze, isn't that the truth...I almost need a refresher course, it's been so darn long since I've been able to hit the plastic too Ron.
Thanks Scream.

Thanks everyone - Most importantly is I'm
glad that everybody had use for theses articles.
I know sometimes for me they come in handy to refresh my fading memory
Gee - could it be the solvent base paints & thinners
are finally getting to me !

Wait a sec!!!
In the wash article the author says that you are supposed to apply a flat coat to protect the paint job from the wash. Shouldn't we apply a gloos coat? I find that if the surface the wash is being applied to is flat the wash actually stain the color besides adding shadows. What am I missing here?

Bombshell,
I think what he means is that model has been painted, then sprayed with gloss coat, decals then applied, then sprayed with dull coat and/or a gloss coat and weathered and washes then applied.

Washes last??? I thought paint, then decals, then washes, dullcoat, drybrush and if necessary pastels?? Or is that wrong???

Nope - if I used the wash technique - that's what I'd do...

Bombshell, its just a basic technique.
If you find that a different approach works better for you, than go with it.
I for one don't even use a clear protective coat.
I let my enamel finish dry & cure for 72 hrs, and then add my wash,
without any harm of my finish pulling up from the solvent wash.
