Hi guy's,

Here are some photo's of the fitter I'm working on.
It's academy's m-113 Fitter mostly OOB. Things added are Friul tracks, 2 spare m-113 road wheels, spare drive sprocket, milliputt sandbags, and a new MG for the commanders turret.
The 2 figures are academy's IDF AFV crew with hornet heads.
The tubing for the winch will be added after painting.

Wow-looking good! I particularly like the interior. You may have overlooked one thing, though: two ejector pin marks are still visible on the driver's hatch. One of those is raised and very close to the hatch detail, so it may be hard to remove.

I can't wait to see the finished model.

Looking good Janwillem. Your little additions will really good after painting. The friuls look the part also. Get some paint on it, to see it in its full glory!

Hi Jan Willem,
you nailed it. I like the small adds which give your model a life-like look. I'm eager to see it painted.

If I may, I suggest you should add the straps for the watercans at the back.

Academys kit is the best model out there ( well thats what I think) Sebastien the only down side is the amount of ejector pin marks but they are fairly easy to get rid of.

Wow i really gotta hand it to ya Jan. You've pretty much knocked this one out of the park.

Great job on the personal touches....sandbags, boxes and a great interior.

The fruil tracks certainly stands out alot while unpainted and needless to say, it makes it looks so much more realistic.

Keep the progress shots coming!

Again guy's you're to kind with youre reply's (but thanks)
I've started with the pre-shading (nato black).
And after a lot of experements with colors I found the color I was looking for.
I used this photo as reverence

It's a mix of Humbrol 72, 155 and 159 (a retio of 1, 1, and 1 I like to keep it simple ).
I'll post some photo's here as soon as I get the base coat on.

Hi Jan,

Looks amazing so far, well done !! I recently purchased this kit, can you tell me , can the top of the hull be left "unstuck" so it can be lifted on and off to show the interior or does it have to be stuck down at a later point ??. I have seen an Academy normal m113 with interior detail as well which I would like to get in the future but again I would like to know if you can remove the top of the hull after its all built ??

Nice work chap !!

You can leave the top unstuck, I have up till now with tis model (but thats for painting) but the fit is so good it doesn't need gleu to keep it stuck in place.

Oke here are some photo's of the fitter with the base color on.
I painted some of the fittings red and applied the decals on a gloss coat.
Still have some further things to paint and fix to the model (al the water cans and hoses for the crane ) and then I can start weathering.

The decals in the kit are a little problem (the license plate) I'll have to figure out how to fix this.
