Hello all first post on here, been lurking for a week or so looking around etc. Anyway decided to post a few pics of my first 200mm bust, painted this back in 2000,
made a few mistakes with the camouflage, and the difference in the skin tones being a bit to subtle, and the Lt bar on the collar being non tactical but hey other than that, I was generally pleased.
I started DF Grieves Wellington bust after this but have still yet to finish it due to 1 house move and the birth of 2 children with 14 months of one another etc etc, hopefully in the coming months I can make a return and finally finish it.

Hi Sparky,
Firstly welcome to the Network
From what I can see you've done a damn fine job on your first large scale bust. Looks like you did it in oils? Personally I don't find the contrasts on the face too subtle. IMHO they look fine.
I'm looking forward to seeing your David Greives Wellington Bust.
BTW, have you visited Historicus Forma yet? It's Armorama's baby sister site - specially for figure modelling
Check it out. I can guarantee you that you'll learn plenty of useful figure modelling tips and tricks from our resident pro's.
Cheers

Hi rudi, thanks for the kind comments I have just poked my head into Historicus Forma and posted a few pics of the unfinished bust, you are correct the face and beret were completed in oils, the BDU's were completed in Humbrols with a very light oil wash.
