Hi all,

I've got a request for members in the USA near the AAF Tank Museum. I'm looking for reference pictures of the M4A3E8 with M2 dozer blade. The only known surviving one can be found in that museum.

It's not possible for me to go there but pictures of that tank would be of great help for the project I have in mind.

So my call for help goes to all US members near that museum. If there's anyone willing to go over there and take as much reference pictures of the tank, especially the M2 dozer blade, I'd be very very happy!

I already asked the museum staff but they're too busy

Is there anyone who could help me?!!

Website of the museum:

Thanks in advance,
Martin

That would be great. I think though I have started the project then already, but I could wait with the final version of the dozer blade till then!

The pictures would be very very welcome!

Nobody else?

Does anyone know other members or maybe friends/relatives near the museum who share our interest in AFV's and who would be willing to visit the museum and take pics?

Hi Martin,
The Museum is in Danville., Virginia. You might want to get on the Big-A-in the USA forum on this site and ask some of our Virginia modellers to help you out. It's probably a 7-8 hour drive for me.
I wish I could be of more help.
Jeff

Well isn't that a community forum? If I post there, won't the post end up in the Dutch community forum?

Martin...You are talking to a complete and utter computer illiterate...I'm lucky that i can post here.....I'll start a new thread in the Big-A community for Southern Va. and Northern N. Carolina modellers and direct them to you...how's that sound?

Hope you get some results.

Take Care.

I live about 5 hours or so from there. Have you tried to contact someone there? I would think one of the volunteers could and probably would take some digipics and email them to you. They obviously have a lot of pride in their display pieces and would most likely love the idea of some international inspiration for a modeler

As for the museum staff, I didn't see that you called them and I can't believe they didn't just jump and help. Try calling them at 11 am on a Thursday now that the busy season is over. If you ever need anything from the Udvar-Hazy center of the NASM let me know I am typing this about 2 miles from it

Hey Martinnn,
I live in Charlotte(only two hours from Danville), and as luck would have it, a friend and I were just talking about going up there in October or early November, so consider the photos as being taken. You can PM me if you want, I'll let you know a firm date when I can.
